Hi, I'm Matt Bey. I live in New Albany, Ohio with my wife and our three kids.
I'm a software engineer by trade, and this blog is a small corner of the web where I can write things down — whether that's about technology, work, family, or whatever else is occupying my brain at a given moment.
By day I'm a software engineer; by night I tinker with electronics in the basement; and somewhere in between I'm either coaching my kids' soccer team or getting up too early to swim with a masters club.
Growing up in the 80s and 90s shaped a lot of how I think about design and culture, and you'll probably notice that if you poke around here. Working in tech keeps the nostalgia honest though — the more interesting question is usually what's worth carrying forward, not whether the past was better.
No particular agenda here. If you've somehow found your way to this corner of the internet, welcome.
